Here we have a stunning Exaequo Softwatch inspired by Salvador Dali. These began production in the 1990’s & eventually stopped in 1998 due to the lack of permission to use Dali’s work. It’s based on his painting “The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory” a stunning, super unique piece. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and is running fine! It’s in exceptional condition bar some microscopic cracks in the crystal. More details below;
I love the dials on these watches and especially the indexes. It’s such a unique design and is definitely a conversation starter. Due to how the indexes are it can be slightly tricky to tell the time perfectly as some of the indexes are quite close but it’s just how it’s designed!
The crystal itself looks nice & clean when looking down in the wrist however as shown there some cracks over the 2,3,4 o’clock markers. As they aren’t huge cracks you could get away with wearing the watch as is however it could equally be easily replaced.
The case is gold plated with a matching crown, it’s in an almost melting style which is very cool. It’s a great size and is the bigger model! Condition wise there’s some light scratches but the plating looks excellent! You’d expect some light scratches on any pre owned vintage watch.
It has its original crown which works perfectly absolutely fine. It is slightly stiff but due to it being quartz once you set the time you’re good to go.
It’s still sat on its original strap & the buckle which will fit a wrist of 7 3/4 inches or smaller. It suits the watch well & both the buckle & strap have the melting style which can be seen throughout the watch. There’s some general wear but still has plenty of life left in it.
The is watch is a battery powered watch which means it runs from a battery, no need to reset the time each time the watch is worn.
This comes just with the watch, there’s no box or paperwork.
