About the watch & condition:

Here we have a beautiful Bi-Metal Rolex Datejust from 1978. The two tone style looks excellent, it’s a very classy looking watch. This watch is powered by a calibre 1570 automatic Rolex movement which runs smoothly keeping reasonable time. This is the later version of the movement which has the hacking feature. When tested it gained just over 15 seconds over 24 hours. This can be reduced with a service however can absolutely be worn as is. More details below;

The watch has a lovely silver coloured dial. Paired with the golden hands & lovely indexes it’s a great looking watch. Condition wise there is some slight signs of general wear most notably the ‘wi’ of ‘Swiss’ is a little worn. While wearing it’s nothing noticeable though! It’s protected by a nice acrylic crystal which is equally in excellent shape!

The watch is housed in a nice stainless steel oyster case with the contrasting 18k gold fluted bezel. It’s an amazing looking watch especially on the wrist.

There’s some minor signs of general wear with some light scratches on the sides but nothing you wouldn’t expect on a pre owned vintage watch. Considering it’s 47 years old it’s exceptional!

It has its original Rolex branded screwdown crown which looks stunning & works/winds absolutely fine. The date on this model isn’t quickset which is correct for this model.

The watch is sat on a Bi-Metal Rolex Jubilee Service bracelet. It’s a great size & is in excellent condition as shown with minimal flex. Usually these are much more worn!

This is an automatic watch meaning it runs off the movement of your wrist. It can also be manually wound as all automatic watch can be. The watch has a small power reserve however if left for a period of time it will have likely stopped.

This is just for the watch, no box or papers. We’ve also included a recent watch register check.
